What I’d say if I were Joe Biden…

Like many of you, I have heard that Bernie Sanders has decided to end his campaign to be the Democratic candidate for President.

I would not only like to congratulate him on a valiant, unwavering campaign and thank Bernie for all that he has done for many year. In addition I would like to thank him if he’ll consider what I’m asking him to do going forward.

I not only would like his support for my candidacy, I would like his help if I am elected President in November. President Obama wisely chose Hillary Clinton to be his Secretary of State, which she so graciously accepted and in which office she did an amazing job in representing our interests and the values we hold dear to the rest of the world. She was as much an Ambassador in that regard as she was Secretary of State.

In an analogous comparison, if I am elected, I am asking Bernie Sanders to be the Chief of a new office I am calling, the Office of Justice, Fairness and Dignity.

For his entire career, Bernie has sounded a clarion call, that was not heard or heeded as much as it deserved to be for the justice, fairness and the dignity of every American with regard to access to healthcare, the criminal justice system and having enough financial security to live with dignity in the most powerful and wealthiest country in the world.

To that end I would like Senator Sanders to join me and to make sure that we fulfill his noble vision of what the United States could be and should be. If he agrees, I am certain we will differ on approaches, but I am just as certain that we will agree on the ultimate vision.

As you know, I pride myself on being a good listener. And being moderate in my stance, if elected, I will no doubt be hearing from all manners of people who feel entitled to my attention and that their interests should be given a high priority.

If Bernie would be gracious enough to join me, he would serve as a much needed and valued key advisor so that I not become distracted or drop the ball in doing my best to fulfill his and our noble vision for justice, fairness and dignity for all.

He and his career and you as the entire American people deserve nothing less.

To fulfill that vision I not only need Bernie’s help, I need all of you Americans to give me that opportunity by coming out and voting for me and the female Vice President that I will be telling you about after I choose from the embarrassment of riches from potential female candidates, all of whom could ably serve as President which is the most important qualification for a Vice President.
