Thank you all for your responses. Re: depression vs. des-pair. Depression is more something you feel deeply mentally and physically. Des-pair is something you feel to the core of your being. And I mean that figuratively and literally. For instance, consider that DNA is paired and the two strands of it are not the same. Rather, they reciprocally complement each other and together they make a whole. Now imagine one strand being stripped away and leaving the other strand to stand alone. I can picture it just falling apart and caving in and collapsing. Interestingly, single stranded DNA does exist in viruses the des-pair we are seeing that is growing and growing is like a virus.
