Team of Unrivaled: The Political Future of Joe Biden
It’s pretty clear to me that I won’t vote for Donald Trump. The main reason is not that merely that I don’t like the man, it’s that I believe he is dangerous.
As a result, I will vote for Joe Biden, the main reason being that I don’t believe him to be dangerous and I trust him to not intentionally hurt anyone.
What eats away at me however is that I wish I had more confidence in him. The more I review his decisions over his career that may have been well intentioned, but were bad judgment calls, the less confidence I have in him.
I do resonate with his repeated declaration that we are fighting for the soul of America, but the soul of America is not going to successfully meet and tackle the challenges and crises facing us, from Covid-19 to systemic racism to an awful healthcare system to frayed foreign relations with our allies to an economic gap between the top 1 % and everyone else that is truly outlandish if not criminal and I’m sure I have left out even more.
There is however a path that Joe Biden could take that would cause me to have confidence in him as a leader.
That would be for him to declare that instead of being the Commander in Chief that he become the Convener and Facilitator in Chief.
