a.k.a. All the President’s Sons
Before I begin, I start by stating that I have no evidence that President Trump knew or didn’t know about any of the meetings and conversations others — and now Michael Cohen — are claiming he had knowledge of.
What I do know as a practicing psychotherapist specializing in treating people with major personality disorders is that if you show me a highly ambitious, power seeking, controlling, judgmental and highly critical and frequently abusive person (think Jobs, Musk, Bezos and Trump) and I’ll show you how everyone that surrounds them would be terrified of not informing them of what is going on, because of the fear of their retributive wrath if they did anything that might disappoint or upset them.
Still sound far fetched and too much psychobabble?
Think of a person in your life with authority over whether you work or you’re fired, with the ability to so intimidate and retaliated against you or at least humiliate you so completely that you’d never recover.
Do you think you would have the nerve to make a decision without telling such a controlling, judgmental and abusive person what you were going to do and then have to live in terror that if you did it and it backfired you’d have to face their wrath?
It may be that Ivanka gets some sort of a pass with President Trump because he respects her intelligence, sees her as smart, elegant and classy in ways that he doesn’t view the rest of his children (hopefully the First Lady is doing a Jackie Kennedyesque job of protecting Barron from the circus) or himself.
There is every reason to believe that Eric and Donald Jr. live in abject fear of their father, much as Donald lived in fear of his father, Fred Trump. The difference is that Donald managed to turn his fear of his father in resentment and anger and “I’ll show you” revenge in ways his sons would never have the guts to do to him.
What do you think?
Do you believe President Trump’s sons would dare do something that might affect their father in any substantial way without letting him in on it?
