I think you would agree that all this tension between you and the media and you and our allies is not good for our country or the world and is a tremendous distraction from you doing your job.

What follows is a simple way to get the media and our allies off your back so that you can do your job as the most powerful person in the world.

Getting people to respect, admire, like and feel inspired by you is a nice value added benefit, but none of them are essential to your getting the support that you and your office deserve.

What is essential is that people trust and have confidence in you and if they did, I think all your detractors would quiet down and let you do your job.

You have said on multiple occasions that you are smart and that you’re a great writer, having written a number of best selling books.

Given those attributes that you claim you have I propose that you sit down alone and without any input or help from your advisors (since you seem to mainly trust your own instincts above their input) and list your exact views on immigration, foreign policy, dealing with Russian/N. Korea/China, dealing with our allies, the economy, healthcare, the environment and the “witch hunt” Mueller investigation.

Next to each view, explain how and why you came to those conclusions and the alternative views you decided against and how and why you decided against them.

Given that you claim to be smart and a great writer and you are passionate about your views, I believe that if you (and not someone else writing it for you) simply explain your decision making process and it appears to make sense, feels sound and seems realistic (i.e. doable), I for one would be very happy to go to bat for you.

Of course, when you sit down to do this on your own will need to be monitored, because there are too many people who will think you got someone else to do it. And that would then defeat the purpose of hearing your answers from you, because if we don’t we won’t be able to trust or have confidence in your thinking.

You might say, “Why should I have to do that when other Presidents before me didn’t have to explain how they made decisions?” I would respond by saying, “No other President has been such a lightning rod for the Fake News and for our allies who haven’t done their fair share in protecting the world or even themselves.”

If you would do what I suggested, you would gain our trust and confidence, suck the wind out of your detractors and might even persuade people to pressure the Mueller investigation to stop.

You can do this President Trump!
